Improvements to the Bergen Card in 2008!
You will now have access to even more activities and save even more by buying a Bergen Card. New offers in 2008 are: VILVITE - Bergen Science Centre, Bergen International Festival, Royal Turbuss and guided city walks. The discount on fjord tours with the M/S Bruvik has been increased.

Direct Frankfurt-Bergen from 30 March
Lufthansa is starting daily direct flights between Frankfurt and Bergen. There will be two direct flights in both directions from 30 March, with good onward connections to the whole world. The goal is to increase this to three direct flights and planes that take a hundred passengers as soon as possible.

The Tall Ships' Races
The Tall Ships' Races are held every summer in European waters, attracting between 70 and 100 vessels from 15-20 countries every year. Bergen will be hosting the tall ships` fleet from 9-12 August.

Unique Picasso paintings to Bergen
Bergen Art Museum will host a comprehensive exhibition of the works of Pablo Picasso from 2 February to 8 June. Eighty of the artist’s works will be on show, including paintings, drawings, graphic work and sculptures.

New conference auditorium
From August 2008, Scandic Hotel Bergen City will be able to present the latest addition to the conference market in Bergen. The premises will have capacity for slightly more than 600 participants, all of 6 metres of ceiling height and state-of-the art AV technology.

A total of six qualifying matches will be played in the Haukelandshallen Hall in Bergen during the period 17 – 20 January 2008.
